Lady Finger Recipe / Bendekai Palya / Bendi Masala (Sabzi) / Okra Recipe

Lady finger is also known as Bendekai in Kannada and Bendi in Hindi. This vegetable is used to prepare palya / sabzi, samber, chutney, chats, etc.........

Here i have prepared palya / sabzi which is very tasty and easy to prepare.




Ingredients:

Bendekai(okra) -- 1/2 kg
Chopped Onion 2
Chopped Green chili 2
Turmeric Powder 1/2 tsp
Masala Powder 1/2 tsp
Garlic 2 pieces
Salt to taste
Oil 1 tbsp
Mustard Seeds 1/4 tsp
Channa Dal 1/2 tsp
Coriander leaves 1/2 cup
Curry Leaves 1/4 cup
Grated coconut 1/4 cup



Method:
In frying pan fry chopped okra(bendekai) with oil in low flame and keep aside.



In one kadai put oil, add mustard seeds when it splutters add channa dal when it turns golden brown add garlic, onion, green chilli stir it for two minutes & add coriander leaves,


Now add fried okra(bendekai)  to kadai and mix well with low flame now add turmeric powder, masala powder and salt to taste mix well with low flame.



Put coriander, grated coconut and serve hot.
